Future Perfect

Riverside Apartments
Riverside Apartments by Snaillad
Next Sunday A.D. - The future is a hard thing to predict, as anyone who plays the ponies or the stock market can attest to. Ask a person 50 years ago what things would be like today and no doubt they would describe a place with far less wheels on the cars while the phones would still hang on walls rather than sitting in pockets. Those still waiting for the government-issued jumpsuits and monthly ration of food pills to arrive in the mail might need a bit more patience, but for others the future is here now. With walls as sparkling white as the caps of the sea and plenty of balconies from which to enjoy it, this little slice of utopia has everything a weary time traveler could want (jetpack not included).

Beach Day

Life's a Beach 2
Courtesy Life's a Beach by Dakar A
1296 Bayside Ave.- (BTT) The summer just hasn't happened yet in coastal areas until you make a trip to the beach. The sun, sand, and waves provide a great atmosphere, and the people are usually friendly. There are all sorts of things to do on the beach, from sunbathing to building a sandcastle, and even fishing! The boardwalk is original, and the setup is modular in three places: the walls, and the water. It can be connected to a 32x32 baseplate to add to the scene! (This is a MOC I made, but I just couldn't resit tooting my own horn!)

Waterfront Wander

Courtesy Promenade by Lego_fan
Historic District - (BTT) All too often we focus on stunning buildings while failing to note their importance on the urban landscape, so it is a welcome sight to see the larger context now and again. An historic castle provides a grand backdrop to this promenade, complete with a park, cafe, a bank, and a townhouse - each impressive in their own right. Feel free to take the stairs down to the water, but do watch your step (and please, no diving).

Gradient Expectations

Courtesy Modular House above a Pub by Dr. Legostar
London, England- (BTT) A great Victorian house, on top of a popular city pub is a great business model, and if the building doesn't draw customers, then the word of mouth should! On the ground floor of this raised building (With a brilliant sewer!), a small pub, complete with pool table, hat racks, booths and a bar, leading up to apartments on the top floor. The sloping steps is a design feature worthy of note, seeing as most Modular buildings are built on a level plain. However, switching things up turned out a beautiful design, and a truly unique building!
