One Man's Trash

Detroit, Michigan- (BTT) With the tough economic times that hit the United States, and the world recently, some places weren't hit as hard as Detroit. With a city built around the automotive business, major bailouts of the main automotive makers doesn't bode well for the city. This MOC, built at the beginning of the economic crisis, this MOC produces a perfect image of abandoned buildings, or those on their last legs. The cracked sidewalk,broken fire escapes, and downed power lines are all great details of decapitation, but through all of the gloom, a few bright spots shine out. A couple of beautiful flowers seemed to have been able to get a new lease on life in the cracks of the dying buildings.

Orange Crush

Bayveiw Boulevard- (BTT) Colour can make or break a building. If it has too much grey, it will be easy to mistake as a communist parking garage. But, on the other side, if there's too much colour, then it will look like your building belongs in candy land. This building by Christer Nyberg (Myko) is a great study in colour- the top has bright orange, but it is subtly offset with greys and dark orange. The street also has a lot of personality, with the smug bench sitter and the anxious banker. Just make sure you don't get too distracted by the building and miss your bus!

Orange You Glad to See Me

Squash Road - (BTT) Proving pumpkins aren't only for Halloween and the occasional holiday pie, the Pumpkin Factory is doing its best to promote the versatile orange fruit, starting with the bold colors on the facade. For those of you that aren't keen on taking the stairs, you're in luck - the building features a fully functioning elevator for all your vertical circulation needs.

Paris, France - (BTT) Proving there is more to the fine art of Parisian baking than just croissants and baguettes (as tasty as those may be), La Boulangerie has been whipping up a wide array of confectionery consumables for generations. Easily recognizable by its bright orange walls and elegantly trimmed windows, this little bakery plays well with its neighbor - a building which has previously graced these very pages.

Dive Shop

Rarely is orange seen in MOCs of any type, but MOCpages builder Brian Lyles put it to good use. The simple storefront makes way for a good interior. Not overdone on the details, this building is a great display of architecture.
