A spectacular model based off the real thing. The attention to detail is incredible, especially above the windows. The colors really go together nicely as well.
Oh...and Happy Easter everyone!

Missionaries From Space

Breaking up the red is quite a tall order, but Kris Kelvin, as usual, pulls if off with perfection. I like how everything sort of has its place in this model. The church really stands out against the green foliage and the awesome stone wall surrounding it.

I can't think of a reason why not to have these. This sure would be cool if LEGO were to do something like this....

Build and Win a Free T-Shirt!
A couple of weeks ago, I got a terrific offer from the good folks over at RedBubble, a site that specializes in all sorts of custom art works, in giving away three free t-shirts to the readers of Brick Town Talk.
How it Works
All you have to do is construct a NEW building or structure. There is no limit in size or shape. Build it big or small, it doesn't matter. The top three winners will be redirected to CEO Martin Hosking of RedBubble to polish off the details.
Submitting
Submit your entries to bricktowntalk@gmail.com. I'm doing it this way because your email will be needed in finalizing what you want from RedBubble.
Deadline will be June 18th.
Deadline will be June 18th.
What You Will Win
I have three of the following shirts from RedBubble's "LEGO T'shirt collection" to give away for the top three models over the next two months.
Now since a lot of you are LEGO city fans, I think you'll like the OCTAN shirt the best, designed by "timeprowler", but that's just me. There's plenty to choose from.
The Judging
Judging will be based on three criteria:
- Originality and Uniqueness
- Presentation/Photography
- Design and Aesthetic Look
All entries will be reviewed for authenticity before they are considered.
This is my first time running a competition, so please feel free to raise your questions!
Hope you will enjoy this! Build something good so you win a t-shirt! Thanks again to RedBubble for sponsoring this competition!
Good luck!

Facade Street

I'm sorry for the really late post. School was very busy this week and I simply didn't have the time to do much. Anyways, I found this great little street scene on Brickshelf the other day and decided to post it here. It's the same guy that built the African City.

Property Values Rise!

Well...not really. In reality this would be an eyesore, but in LEGO, it sports a realism factor rarely seen among models. The brickwork behind the facade is so cool. Keep it up!

Now this is neat. The "Empire" and Octan logos are awesome and it just goes to show why dark orange is a such a fantastic color to build with. I'm getting some nice 50s vibes from this. Terrific work!
